For a Yamato Man, the ritual content contains following :They will change the haircut from child-styled to adult-styled.That’s the core ritual.After that ,they will change their own name from pet name to courtesy name.They will first wear the hakama.For the samurais,they will first time to get the real Katana or the first real battle.
For a Yamato woman,they will wear formal adult clothes(A kinf of longuette) ,change their own haircut into the adult-styled
